LYCEUM SCHOOL: LONDON THEMED IMMERSIVE MURAL

A MOCK TUBE STATION IN SCHOOL CORRIDOR

“We wanted to create an immersive mural for the children of Lyceum School, celebrating their hometown and classroom, London and bringing some colour into the space. "

We wanted to create an immersive mural for the children of Lyceum School, that celebrated their hometown and classroom, London and brought some colour into the space.

As a centrally located inner-city primary school, the building itself is old and spreads across multiple floors, with the dining hall occupying the basement.

We wanted to improve the journey the kids make every day to and from the dining hall by creating their very own London underground tube platform.

Taking the bold colour pallet of the school and combining that with the iconic London Underground shade of red, we created a bold yet simplistic ‘London Underground style’ tiled framework that runs through the corridor, with wayfinding (inspired by those iconic ‘way out’ signs used across London’s platforms) and frames for tiled artworks, that are found on tube platforms across the city to be placed. The illustrations are Inspired by the iconic tiled artworks that have hidden meanings.

We designed our own series of artworks that represent the school and its values.
